I’m a Sidekick Consultant—Now What?
So you’ve joined Sidekick as a Business Development Consultant. First off… Congratulations! You’re not just wearing a new badge; you’re stepping into a network-driven, value-based ecosystem that’s helping companies solve real problems in Operations, HR, and Marketing.
But now that you’re in… what’s next?
Whether you’re brand new to consulting or a seasoned connector, this quick-start guide is here to help you hit the ground running, make meaningful introductions, and start earning with purpose.
First, Let’s Get One Thing Clear: This Title Isn’t Just for Show
Sidekick BD consultants are part of a growing, vetted network. We’re not just building a referral club—we’re building a business community that delivers real results. Our clients and vendor partners trust us to solve expensive problems, make critical introductions, and fuel growth. As such, your role is essential on multiple levels.
The best Sidekick consultants don’t “sell”—they solve. And it all starts with one thing: strategic connections.
1. Identify 5 Companies Where You Have Strong Relationships
Start here. Think about the CEOs, COOs, HR leads, or Marketing Directors who trust you. They don’t need to be in crisis mode—they just need to be open to making smarter decisions about how they spend money or scale their business.
Write down five companies. Here’s an easy way to begin:
Identify companies where you have decision-maker access
Identify companies that are growth-minded or going through change
Identify companies that are likely to spend money in areas like software, staffing, recruiting, marketing, or operations
From there, think about: What’s costing them time or money right now? Who do they rely on for help? Could one of Sidekick’s partners save them budget, reduce chaos, or help them scale?
If yes, that’s you’ve found an entry point.
2. Stay Top of Mind—This Is Mission-Critical
Most deals don’t happen after one conversation. That’s why staying top of mind with your network is everything.
Here are a few ways to do that:
Drop them an article or case study relevant to their industry (need examples, contact Sidekick!)
Invite them to a casual Zoom with one of our partners (we’ll do the heavy lifting)
Introduce them to another business owner in your circle who could create synergy
You’re not just “checking in”—you’re delivering unexpected value. The more you do that, the more Sidekick becomes a trusted extension of your brand.
3. Making an Introduction Is Simple
Here’s the easiest way to bring someone into the Sidekick ecosystem:
Ask: “Would you be open to a quick, no-pressure chat with someone from our team? I think they might be able to help you save money or simplify your operations.”
Loop in your Sidekick contact (or use our template intro message)
We’ll take it from there. Every call is designed to add value, whether there’s a deal or not.
Bonus: One of our current consultants earns over $3,000/month from a single referral that took 10 minutes to make. That’s the kind of long-term win we aim to replicate.
4. Lean on the Sidekick Team—We’re Here for You
Sidekick isn’t just a logo—it’s a team. And our team is your team.
You’ll have access to:
Asset libraries to help with outreach (talk tracks, PDFs, case studies)
Custom support from our internal team for strategy, intros, and deal follow-up
Regular updates so you know what new partners or services we’re launching
Exclusive opportunities—like VIP Zoom sessions with top-performing vendors
We’re on pace to make serious noise the rest of this year and beyond. And we want you with us as we grow.
5. Remember: This Isn’t About Selling—It’s About Connecting
You’re not pushing products. You’re helping businesses run better. And that’s what makes Sidekick different.
As we continue to add powerful vendor partners, sharpen our strategies, and expand the reach of our network, your role becomes more and more valuable.
So if you're wondering, "Am I really positioned to make a difference?"—the answer is yes. One connection at a time.
Let’s get to work.
